Duplicate Detection for 3D Clean Up
Duplicate assets can make up a big chunk of 3D files, especially in AEC models where repeated objects are common. Reducing the number of duplicate objects in a 3D scene can greatly decrease the size of your file, streamlining the real-time visualization workflow. Cubity provides a fast and reliable way to identify duplicate assets in your 3D scene automatically. Import your model from up to 40 file formats (including 3DS, GLTF, DAE and OBJ, 3DS), Cubity will quickly analyze your file and detect duplicate assets. By evaluating both object components (vertex count, edge length, face count, shaders, groups and more) and scene components (distance, rotation and scale), Cubity can find similarities between the 3D assets, group them together, and ask the user to verify if they are in fact duplicates.
When the user imports their original 3D file, Cubity assembles all the important meshes from the original outliner to generate an asset inventory. The parts listed in your hierarchy in a grid format in order for users to be able to browse their groups, review each part, including all attributes such as polycount, vertex count and face count per objects and or select and remove individual groups or parts.
Cubity provides insight into your 3D scene by identifying performance limiting factors. After importing a model to Cubity the software shows statistics on polygons, vertices, hierarchies, textures, material, (and all other components that make up an object and scene). Cubity visualizes this information giving you a full overview of what makes up your model. This will help you identify opportunities for optimization that will make your visualization pipeline more efficient.
Broken Hierarchy Detection
Hierarchies help arrange scenes, groups and objects, keeping a 3D scene organized. Processes such as converting a CAD file (or any other format) to FBX format can cause data loss (especially BIM data). Cubity crawls through the file to find areas with a large number of objects and no parents, a telltale sign of a broken hierarchy. Once Cubity highlights the broken groups, the user can go back to their original 3D software and fix the link between parent and child hierarchies. Cubity bridges the gap between 3D modeling and visualizing for Unreal Engine users, so you can make sure a model with broken hierarchies is fixed before deploying for visualization!
Cubity can not only detect duplicate assets (based on similarities in object and scene components), but it also gives users the option to instance or delete assets in one click. First, upload your 3D model to our software, Cubity will quickly analyze and identify duplicate objects based on similarities in scene and object components. The software will show you an object count (of your assets) and by how much it will decrease if you instance the duplicate assets found. Instancing duplicates can significantly lighten your file, making real-time visualization possible!

For example, Cubity can detect broken outliner hierarchies by finding groups with no assets, empty groups signal a damaged file or broken instances, and Cubity will then suggest you delete the group or re-export the file to fix the issue.
